Do I need to install WordPress before I purchase an Intothedarkroom Blog ?

No, Intothedarkroom has created an easy to use installer that will install WordPress right on your server along with our template files. All you'll need to do is get blogging.

What if I have WordPress installed already?

If you are already using WordPress for your blog then you can keep your current WordPress installation and just activate our theme and plugin. That said, our Tarragon theme uses advanced WordPress features like custom upload fields and post exerpts to create it’s unique look and interactivity. Please note that you may be required to update your old posts to ensure the correct look and operation as shown on our demos. Brand new WordPress installations will not have this issue.

Which WordPress Plugins can I use with this blog?

There are thousands of WordPress plugins at your disposal, however, we don’t support these third party plugins or help you install them. Some will work out of the box and some won’t. You will just have to play around with the plugins you want.

Can I import my posts from my current blog?

If you are already using WordPress for your blog then you can keep your current WordPress installation and just activate our theme and plugin. Our installer won’t overwrite anything.

If you are using another blogging platform, the answer is most likely. WordPress allows importing from most of the major blogging platforms.

Can I embed Flaunt?

Flaunt, our awesome photography slideshow program, can be embedded in any page or post on the blog.

How does the blog look on iPhones, iPads, and other mobile devices?

Our blogs are functional on virtually any mobile device that can browse the internet. Because Apple doesn’t accept flash on their devices, the header has been modified to hold a single image rather than contain a rotating flash header, but besides that the blog should look almost identical on the iPhone and iPad.

Is the blog Search Engine Optomized?

Blogs in general are very SEO-friendly, but we go the extra mile to make sure we have implemented all the proper SEO techniques into our blogs.

Can I add video?

You can embed videos hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, etc in any post or page.

Can I change the navigation?

You can change most of the navigation items. The only ones that you cannot remove are Home, Categories, RSS, and Blogroll (which you can change to Links and use it to link to anywhere you want).

How many images does the flash header hold?

The Flash header holds an unlimited amount of images. They will rotate in the order you specify.

Can I buy a matching website?

Yes. The matching photography website template is built on our all new redesigned, easy to use, admin that will allow you to add images, text, video, navigation, change the design settings, etc. It is the perfect compliment to the blog and will give you the complete branded experience.

Will my host work with the blog?

Our cart system/installer will check your host to make sure it is compatible for you. If you don’t have a host, we recommend HostGator for our U.S. based clients and Site5 for our International clients.

Do you have support?

Yes. We have a resource center to help you use the product. You will find both quick start guides and detailed instructions. In addition, we have a support ticket system to help you with any other issues that you may have.

Are there monthly fees?

Nope!
