FAQ
What size should my images be?
- You want to size your images 1600x1200 you DO NOT want to exceed that size.
What size should my logo be?
- For your contact card logo you should size it at least 200x100 pixels.
- For the background logo or the watermark logo you need to take info consideration how big you want your logo to show up
behind your slideshow and how big you want your watermark on your images.
What if i do not want to put a logo in for my watermark
In order for your SSM to work properly you need to put in a logo in your watermark logo area or your other option is to create transparent png and put that in the place of the watermark logo.
Why did my images stop loading?
- Check the image that did not load. Make sure that the image was named correctly. Also make sure that it was saved web ready properly. A good way to test to see if it is a single image that is the problem, is to delete the image that did not load and replay the slideshow. If the slideshow images continue to load, than there was a problem with that image file.
How should I name my files and folders?
- DO NOT name galleries/files with ampersands (&), number signs (#), at signs (@), etc, spaces, underscores, etc
Why are my images out of order?
- To order your images, the fool-proof way is to do so numerically. You'll begin ordering your images like so: 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 007, 008, 009, and so forth. Seeing a pattern yet? No?... Then just follow this rule: If you have 50 images (two digits) you must add a zero, as a filler, before any number that is less than two digits (in this case, 1 - 9). So if you have 250 images (three digits) it would take two zeros before image number '1' to create the three digit filler; '001'.
- REMEMBER: The first image in your slideshow will be the image that appears on the 'Launch' page (where clients choose how they'd like to launch your slideshow).
Why aren't my MP3's not loading?
- Make sure that your music file is an mp3.
- Here is a link to convert your music into different file formats http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1550.
- If you are certain it is an mp3 find out how big the file is, some servers only allow for 2mb upload limit so you may need to compress the file.
What the heck is that little warning sign next to my Slideshows?!
- Don't worry - it doesn't mean you've done anything wrong. Every slideshow can be customized - aesthetically. If you do so, you'll notice that little yellow warning sign next to the slideshow has disappeared! I will now show a gear looking thing next to the gallery name. It means that specific slideshow is no longer following the 'Global Style'. If you decide you don't like the modifications and wish you could get the original settings back - don't freak! Near the 'Save Settings' button, all customized slideshows have an option to 'Revert to Global'.
Can I make a client's slideshow expire?
- Once you decide you no longer want to have your clients' slideshow live, login to your Slideshare Max admin panel and highlight 'Gallery Admin' (Click to Manage). Over to the right, you'll see your list of galleries. Highlight the desired gallery and click 'Rename Gallery'. By renaming the gallery, you're not deleting all that hard work just to put it up again a month later because Grandma or little Timmy talked you into it. Rename your gallery including an obnoxious amount of underscores or with '___DoNe' trailing its name. Because your galleries have their own unique URL (like, http://YOUR_DOMAIN_NAME.com/darkroom/share/?client/CLIENT_GALLERY_NAME), by changing the gallery name, the links that your clients had been sent will no longer work. The same goes for your Slideshare Max gateway page (located at: http://YOUR_DOMAIN_NAME.com/darkroom/share/). Your client password, or gallery name, will not work unless they're given its new name.
Why aren't my images showing up but the thumbnails are?
Make sure your logos are in. You can check this in the "Client Info" area. The second box and first line of the 3rd box are the logo areas. If it says "file_to_upload" before the name of your file that means it is not fully uploaded, so go ahead and give it another try. Remember that the browse button turns into an upload button, so you will have to click it twice.
Why aren't my changes showing up?
- In order to speed up web browsing, web browsers are designed to download web pages and store them locally on your machine in an area called "cache". When you visit the same page for a second time, the browser speeds up display time by loading the page locally from cache instead of downloading everything again. This sometimes results in less than current versions of web pages being displayed.
