Gather round, kids. It is time to have a chat about hosting. In the past, we have allowed you to host our products on many different hosts. Many of you have been fooled by Super Bowl commercials, and decided to go with bottom of the barrel hosting for your website. VEND is different. It is time to take your hosting seriously and select a host that is robust for a powerful product. Your proofing is important and your host should be powerful enough to handle server side re-sampling, SSL capable, offer regular/multiple backups, have unlimited storage/bandwidth, and more. We even think that you should consider buying a new URL and hosting VEND on its own.

Can I sell packages?

Yes. You can now add package options for your clients to choose from. Each package has a title, image, description, and specific image formats all set up by you.

How sharp are the images?

You can now set the resampler to auto-sharpen images as they get scaled, and you can also opt to use the Image Magick library if your server supports it. It beats Photoshop’s default "Save to Web" settings in terms of filesize and sharpness!

How do favorites work?

Favorites are now directly built-in to Vend’s interface with a thumbs-up icon. Your users can flag favorites right from the wall, and filter out images at a glance.

Can I sell products?

Yes. You can now set up products for your clients to add to their cart. You can also assign image formats to a product if needed (ie: 12 images for a calendar).

Can clients zoom in on photos?

Users with smaller resolutions can now "zoom" into the image (no bigger than 1000px in either direction) and pan around to see more detail about each photo they may be interested in.

Can clients pay for photos with a credit card?

VEND has flexible payment methods that include the ability to set offline payments, recieve payment via PayPal standard, PayPal merchant (Website Payment Pro), Authorize.net (you will need an SSL certificate). Please note: there are fees to use these vendor's services.

In addition, the system will be able to calculate shipping vs local pickup, taxes for the US/Canada/Europe, and add fees for miscellaneous items.

What if I sell a ton of images?

For those of you that want to just add a few hundred images to one category, you can upload your images via the backend. For those of you that are going to have thousands of images broken down into multiple categories, we brought back FTP upload. Basically, you can organize your images into folders, zip them, and drop them on the server. This will drastically cut down your time in the backend. Each category can hold around 400 images. Althought we have successfully tested more images, you do not want to push the limits, because older computers with less ram will have a hard time processing 1000 images in a category.

can I offer discount codes?

Yes. You can set up a code for a specific (client set) or globally for all of the sets. In addition, you can offer your clients a percentage off the entire bill or an exact amount. This will come in handy when people prepay.

Can clients share their order?

Now, your clients sessions gets saved and can be accessed from another location via their email address. So, they can have other family members login and see their current order. This makes long distance proofing easy and possible.

Can I brand Vend?

Yes. With just about all of our products, we want the interface to be branded to match your companies identity. You can modify colors and add your logo to make sure that your clients know where they are.

How do I send the link to my clients?

We have added a popular feature that you all seemed to like about our Flaunt slideshow. The Output feature. This allows you to set up emails in bulk to blast information to. In addition, we capture everyone’s email that views a proofing set.

What does an order look like?

Once you get your order, you will have the option to use our Lightroom/Aperture import mechanism, to quickly find all of the high resolution photos that need to be sent to your lab. In addition, you will have a check sheet of all the ordered items to make sure nothing gets left out of the order.

Can I have large watermarked images?

Our system allows for images no larger than 1000 pixels in either direction. The interface will auto resize based on the browser to accomodate the largest images possible. Since we allow for such large images, we create a true watermarking mechanism. You can have a thin one pixel "x" run through the center of the image and/or your logo add to the image.

What are your refund policy?

There are no refunds. Since the product self-installs on your server, the files are out of our control. Similar to you providing a client with a DVD of all the digital files. Therefore, we can not provide you with a refund.
